Gallery Owner Gives $20 Million to Boost UCLA Arts School

The University of California at Los Angeles’s School of the Arts and Architecture has received a $20 million from a prominent art dealer and campus alumna, writes Artnet News. The donation from Margo Leavin will go into rebuilding studio facilities for art graduate students.

The expanded complex, scheduled to open in 2019, will be renamed for Ms. Leavin, who graduated from UCLA with a psychology degree in 1958. She became a private art dealer nine years later and from 1970 to 2012 ran the Margo Leavin Gallery in Los Angeles, which hosted hundreds of exhibitions featuring Ellsworth Kelly, Sherrie Levine, and other major contemporary artists.
